GEETHANJALI THEME (TELUGU) A.K.A IDHAYATHAI THIRUDATHEY THEME

For long i have been fascinated with IR's orchestrations. Ilaiyaraaja was one of the early Indian film composers to use Western classical music harmonies and string arrangements in Indian film music. This allowed him to craft a rich tapestry of sounds for films, and his themes and background score gained notice and appreciation amongst Indian film audiences. Ilaiyaraaja's songs typically used to have a musical forms where vocal and choruses are interspersed with orchestral arrangements ,Especially the lead notes are intervowen with supporting melody lines played by instruments. He had created many preludes /interludes /bgm /themes in this fashion.
i have tried to recreate one such theme here , the theme of GEETHANJALI a.k.a IDHAYATHAI THIRUDATHEY. Though this theme is not so famous as Mounaragam theme , this one gives you a lingering feel and makes you wonder how IR can create such themes. Please do hear the theme and post your valuble comments . if u like it and have a compatible phone please download and use it as ringtone

Aah finally! Thats a long time you took to update your blog. I love Illayraja sir's music too. Some of my favourites are 'pothi vecha maligha mottu' , then 'naan thedum sevandhi poovidhu'.... then ofcourse all his award winning songs. He's one person I am craving to work for.

My computer was ready by 11.30 pm yesterday night, after a break down of 2 weeks. I have to connect sound and other devices. Eager to listen to the new theme. AR has started a new Music college - refer Indian Express 2 days back in the Mag. sec.

Great work.
Orchestration was like real...

May be you should add the video of how you make these instrumentals-even if you are not playing the piece all at once - the video for this song has just text, which is disappointing.

Also how about making a tutorial for beginners where you can share your knowledge..

Thanks

Mappillai,

Good one - although a touch too lengthy to be set as ring tone. I wonder how to do you find time to do all this stuff amid your busy Doctor's life. Hmmm, maybe you can take a summer break for a month and concentrate fully on music stuff!

Good luck,
Anand

superb taste. Try the BGM of Agni Natchatram, that's really good. Please keep it up. I am slightly averse towards the electronic gizmo's and would love to here MSV's and IR's BGM Violins, Flute, Piano and the delicate pronounced Bass Guitar in all IR's songs.
