ITS B(H)ANGL(R)A TIME FOLKS

ITS BHANGRA TIME FOR PEOPLE IN BANGLADESH WHEN THEY GOT THE MIGHTY SOUTH AFRICANS DANCING TO THE TUNES OF MUCH IMPROVED BANGLA BOWLING. NOW I THINK BANGLA TIGERS HAVE DEVELOPED THE KNACK OF UPSETTING THE WORLD NO 1 TEAMS (COURTESY : PREVIOUS UPSET OF AUSSIES).

NOW THE TIGERS HAVE A HATRICK OF WORLDCUP UPSETS TO THE KITTY.
1999 – Bangladesh, 223-9, def. Pakistan, 161, by 62 runs at Northampton, England.
2007 – Bangladesh, 192-5, def. India, 191, by 5 wickets at Port-of-Spain, Trinidad.
2007- Bangladesh, 251-8 def. RSA, 184, by 67 runs at providence stadium , guyana
AFTER SO MANY PREVIOUS DEBACLES BANGLADESHIS ARE NOW TASTING SWEET SUCCESS . NOT BECAUSE OF FLUKE !!! , BUT BECAUSE OF GROSS SYSTEM CHANGE , COMPETITIVE DOMESTIC CRICKET STANDARDS , HARD WORK AND VISION OF DAV WHATMORE , AND HARDCORE COMMITMENT OF THE CRICKETING BUNCH WHO WERE CHOSEN FOR THE WORLD CUP. THOUGH THERE WERE STRONG REACTIONS WHEN "KHALED MASHUD" WAS OMITTED FROM THE WORLD CUP SQUAD FOR WICKET KEEPER MUSHFIQUR RAHIM ,THE YOUNG LAD SEEMS TO BE THE RIGHT REPLACEMENT FOR THE THREE WORLDCUP VETERAN. WITH SOME DISCIPLINED BOWLING AND THOUGHTFULL BATTING AND AGILE FIELDING THEY INDEED ARE PROVING THEMSELVES WORTHY OF THEIR TEST STATUS AND NO LONGER DESERVE TO BE CALLED THE MINNOWS
TIGERS HAVE LEARNT THIER LESSONS FROM THE PREVIOUS TWIN MAULING IN THE HANDS OF AUSSIES AND KIWIS AND AWAIT TO BUTCHER THE POMS VERY SOON. THE CAUSE OF THESE UPSETS SEEMS TO BE THE COMPLACENCY OF THE OPPOSITION TAKING THE TIGERS LIGHTLY. I CAN VERY WELL SENSE THE NEW VIGOUR IN THE COMMITMENT OF THESE YOUNG PLAYERS AND DAV WHATMORE HAS WORKED WONDERS WITH THESE GUYS AFTER HE TOOK THE SRILANKAN LIONS TO WORLD CUP TRIUMPH IN 1996. WITH ASHRAFUL REGAINING FORM AND ENGLAND LOW ON CONFIDENCE BANGLADESH CAN DEFINITELY POST A BIG THREAT AND CAN ELIMINATE THE POMS OUT OF THE CUP AFTER ALREADY ELIMINATING INDIA OUT IN THE LEAGUE STAGE ITSELF.I HAPPENED TO VISIT THE WEB SITE OF BANGLADESH CRICKET BOARD ITS CALLED http://www.tigercricket.com/ AND THEY TRUELY DESERVED TO BE CALLED THE TIGERS , WITH INDIA SITTING LIKE A LAME UGLYDUCKLING SANDWICHED BETWEEN THE BANGLADESHI TIGERS AND THE SRILANKAN LIONS
